PLANTS STONES – WHO ARE YOU?
03. July 2025
Exhibition Area
The exhibition presents the newest works by the Slovenian painter Ida Brišnik Remec.
This time, the painter presents herself independently with her latest paintings (as she calls them). Crayons on paper, this will be her first exhibition since receiving the Glazer Lifetime Achievement Award in 2024.
After so many years of creating plant motifs, including the latest stones, all of which she has artistically analysed countless times, the artist asks herself who all these natural phenomena from her immediate surroundings are. She asks "who are you" and not "what are you", as if these were persons with souls – both living and non-living – this is a question of scientific explanation that the artistic imagination is allowed to ignore; as written by the curator Mario Berdič Codella.
On view until August.
