Ephemera Collection

The Ephemera Collection is a special collection of very untypical library materials; untypical by the contents, kind or form. The materials are untypical for university libraries, but the University of Maribor Library has been systematically and professional collecting, processing and keeping them for decades. 

The materials from this collection are the reflection of the time and space, where and when they were designed. They are formally and contextually a product of the today’s society and these materials are the ones who very vividly respond to changes in the business and social life. Their visual image and graphic solutions, but most of all their communicativeness, are vivid images of the period they were designed in.

The materials, which have been part of the collection since 1998, can be found in OPAC. Older materials can be found in the card catalogues in the Collection. 

The cartographic materials can be used in the Collection.

All the materials have the “FOR THE READING ROOM” (ZA ČITALNICO) status.

In the Ephemera Collection you can find:

• ephemera (invitation, notices, flyers, posters, folders etc.);
• postcards and photos (of smaller size);
• picture materials and photos (of larger size);
• cards;
• posters;
• PKG (special library materials-obligatory copies).
