The Austrian Library has been part of our library since 1990. It is logistically and organizationally part of the University of Maribor Library and it therefore builds a library within a library. It is located on the 3rd floor.

The Austrian Library materials are marked with AČ (Avstrijska čitalnica) and are donated mostly by the Austrian Foreign Ministry.  All of the materials are included in the COBIB database and therefore available for everyone interested.

The Austrian Library has, next to the basic library activities, a lot of other tasks, like providing information on study possibilities in Austria. We also organize a wide spectrum of events, from movie evenings, literary evenings, promotions of writers and artists, international symposiums and exhibitions. The Austrian Library has, since its establishment in 1990, become an important part of the University of Maribor Library; it has become the center for everyone interested in Austrian literature, culture and history.
