The project Under the Magnifying Glass with the UGM Collection aims to promote and deepen the perception of artworks from the UGM Collection through collaborations with various institutions. In this iteration, the University of Maribor Library (UKM) is partnering with the Maribor Art Gallery (UGM) to enhance the understanding of select artworks centred around books and reading. Featured are chosen pieces from the UGM Collection alongside two works from the UKM Collection, all of which are examined and interpreted from diverse perspectives. Additionally, a curated selection of material from UKM supplements the display. The thematic focus lies on representations of books, reading, and writing, with accompanying texts unveiling the rich symbolism associated with books and the culture of reading.

Curators of the exhibition and text authors: Breda Kolar Sluga, UGM and Jerneja Ferlež, UKM

The exhibition is housed at the UKM Exhibition Hall, with a smaller thematic selection also showcased as part of the Spekter. 70 Years of the UGM Collection exhibition, located at UGM, Strossmayerjeva 6.
