BOOK PRESENTATION: GOVORI (Eng. Speeches) by BORUT GOMBAČ

On Tuesday, the 4th of February 2025, at 5 PM, we invite you to Glazer Hall for the presentation of Govori (Eng. Speeches) – the first collection of essays by poet, playwright, and librarian Borut Gombač, as part of the Zasedanja s knjigami series.
While the concentration of "speeches" in one place is a fairly established practice, their analysis in this book is something unique. The author has deconstructed and reassembled already existing and partially published texts in a way that results in four thematic sections (How Poetry Speaks, How Radio Plays Speak, How Children's Literature Speaks, How Books Speak), each with a rich internal dramaturgy.
This new structure highlights recurring themes, sharpens them, and illuminates them from different perspectives. It reveals both diversity and coherence. As Petra Vidali wrote: what Borut Gombač writes, does, and "speaks" about is inseparable.
