LIFE IN THE SUBCONSCIOUS: BOOK PRESENTATION
12. March 2025
Thursday, 20 March 2025, 5 p.m., Glazer Hall
As part of the Sessions with Books series, the event will present the autobiographical novel Fighter – Diary of a Coward by Simon Šerbinek. The book explores the life of a man struggling with mental health issues, seeking to come to terms with his past and start anew. With the support of a psychiatrist and interactions with other characters, the novel vividly describes the states of psychosis and regression experienced during psychiatric treatment.
“The book serves as the author’s sensitive testimony of his psychotic experience, where—despite its painful aspects—his optimism and belief in the meaning of life remain evident. Through this perspective and his creativity, the author demonstrates that even severe mental distress, such as psychosis, can be a challenge and an opportunity for greater personal maturity and overall mental well-being” (Bojan Filipič, MD, psychiatrist, and psychotherapist).
The conversation will be moderated by dr. Andreja Erdlen.
We look forward to your visit!
