EXHIBITION OPENING: THE CORROSION* OF CIVILIZATION BY ANDREJ PERKO
27. August 2024
Tuesday, 10 September 2024, 17:00, Art Exhibition Hall
Through the exhibit, the author reflects on the word corrosion* – gnawing, decomposing, decaying (from lat. “con + rodere”). He describes his creating process as it follows: “With acid I etch the iron, I moist and dry it, I expose it to the physical and chemical factors, adding salt while simultaneously taking photos of emerges – be it spontaneous or due to my small interventions.
As if at an occultist séance, the anthropomorphic and zoomorphic creatures or postapocalyptic lands emerge. Where caustic rain washes the abandoned and scorched grounds and surprised blind eyes of an unrecognizable being stare at us as if wanting to give a warning that the time is running out, into the dark future.”
The exhibition is a part of Photography Festival.
