A LITERARY AND HISTORICAL EVENT: RUDOLF MAISTER – THE LEGENDARY MARIBORIAN

The literary and historical event is dedicated to commemorating the 150th anniversary of the birth of general Rudolf Maister and the 90th anniversary of his death. The event will lead us through Masiter’s life and creativity – from poetry, bibliophilia and cocreation of cultural life, to visual arts.
The programme, composed by Maja Borin – the playwright from Slovene National Theatre Maribor – will be accompanied by documentary material from the Regional Archives Maribor and will be
led by actors from Maribor Drama: Minca Lorenci and Vojko Belšak.
After the event, it will be possible to visit Maister’s library, which has been declared a cultural monument of national importance, at the University of Maribor Library. Maister’s library will be presented by the historian and trustee Vlasta Stavbar, PhD.
The event is a part of “Maribor Day” series and is organized by: Slovene National Theatre Maribor, University of Maribor Library, Regional Archives Maribor, and Maribor Public Library.
