Online enrolment

 

The University of Maribor Library also offers online enrolment with a registration form and online membership fee payment for all categories of members. Fill out the registration form at COBISS+ website with your personal data as it is written on your identification document.

Choose a type of enrolment – (1) using student identity (University of Maribor students only) or (2) using a registration form (other categories of members).

 

Enrollment with student identity

 

Fill out the form, confirm you agree with the Terms of use and settle an annual membership fee using the PPA online payment system (payment and credit cards, mobile telephony, online banks).

 

With online enrolment, membership fee is charged according to the valid pricelist.

Exceptions

Exceptions:

  • University of Maribor employees are exempted from membership fee payment,

  • University of Maribor students have already settled membership fee upon enrolment at the faculty.

 

Other

Unemployed persons, social support recipients and secondary school students under 18 years of age can only utilize exemption from membership fee payment upon a personal enrolment at the library. Persons who select a 3-month membership must also enrol at the library personally.

 

After 12 months, you can again settle the membership fee through My Library online service and so extend your membership.

University of Maribor Library Friends Club 

The University of Maribor Library Friends Club is a vibrant community comprising individuals who engage with the library in various capacities - whether as users, visitors, professional or business partners, or colleagues. We invite all who share a connection to the library, regardless of the reason, to join our Club. We aim to harness the potential inherent in the positive experiences of each member by fostering connections among them.

University of Maribor Library Friends Club members convene multiple times annually for the regular general meeting, alongside various social and educational gatherings. They are encouraged to lend their expertise, reputation, innovative ideas, and enthusiasm to advance the library's growth, reputation, and overall prosperity, working hand in hand with its management and staff.

The University of Maribor Library Friends Club was founded on March 7, 2012, in the Glazer Hall of the library and currently has over 100 members - both individuals and legal entities. The initiative to create a community of people united by their affection for the library was taken by then-director Dr. Zdenka Petermanec and her colleagues. The first president of the Club, prof. Dr. Šime Ivanjko was one of the founders. He was succeeded by the literary scholar Andrej Brvar, and today, the club is led by the medical doctor Prof. Dr. Andraž Stožer.

 

How to become a member

To become a member of the University of Maribor Library Friends Club, you must complete a membership form and pay an annual fee (for those under 30 - €5, for others from €25 onwards).

Access to WIFI

Access to WifiUKM

Next to EDUROAM and LIBROAM you can also access to WifiUKM wireless network in UKM.
It is meant for the users who cannot access to LIBROAM/EDUROAM.

You need a username and a password to access WiGuestUKM network, which you can get at the information desk on the 1st floor. The password is valid for 30 days.

Access to EDUROAM – wireless educational network

Who can use EDUROAM:

  • Secondary school students and staff;
  • Faculty students and staff;
  • Staff of institutions, libraries and other research institutions.

You can also connect to the EDUROAM network with different appliances:

  • Laptops;
  • Palmtops;
  • Mobile phones.

To connect to these networks you need:

  • An appliance with appropriate software and hardware;
  • User account for accessing the safe EDUROAM network.

You can get your user account from your central organization (where you go to school or to work) and you can use all the EDUROAM networks in Slovenia and abroad.

Access to LIBROAM

LIBROAM is a system of using wireless networks in Slovene libraries and is based on the same technical standards as EDUROAM.
The use of LIBROAM is not limited to your central library; you can access this network in any Slovene library that offers it..

How to connect
to LIBROAM

  • Client settings:
    You need to upgrade Windows with SecureW2. You can find detailed settings manual here.
  • Logging in:
    While logging in make sure you use capital and small capital letters correctly. You can use LIBROAM if you are a library member, if you have no debts and if you don’t violate the rules valid for EDUROAM/LIBROAM.

    Username:
    ukm.nnnnnnn@libroam.si, the nnnnnnn being your membership card number.

    Password:
    The password is the same as for the Moja knjižnica/My Library service or LIBROAM. Make sure you use capital and small capital letters correctly. You can get the password at the circulation desk.
