Marjan Toš: Davorin Polič, zamolčani Maistrov podpornik, sokolski vaditelj, narodno-politični in kulturni delavec pri Lenartu v Siovenskih goricah. Časopis za zgodovino in narodopisje, Maribor 82=47(2011), 2-3, str. 117-135

Marjan Tos: Davorin Polic, a Forgotten Maister's Supporter, "Sokol" Instructor, National, Political and Cultural Worker in Lenart v Siovenskih goricah. Review for History and Ethnography, Maribor 82=47(2011), 2-3, pp. 117-135

In the decade before World War I in the last century the market town Sv. Lenart in Slovenske gorice was a place noted for its interesting national fights between Germans and Slovenes. Although it showed a German face on the outside, it was Slovene on the inside. Its surroundings were totally Slovene as well. The "Sokol" society, which was established in 1908, brought fresh energy into the national life. The liberal lawyer, Milan Gorisek, PhD and his official Davorin Polii' played an important role in "Sokol". Milan Gorisek thought highly of Davorin PoJi(', who was also an excellent "Sokol" instructor and organiser. He was very devoted to this work. Chroniclers describe him as a highly rational man, who was totally devoted to Slovenehood and to the national politics. He was an extraordinary Maister's supporter and he took part in actions for taking over the authorities in Lenart in the revolutionary year 1918.
