Časopis za zgodovino in narodopisje, Maribor 86=51(2015), 1, str. 70–86

Mateja Ratej: The Idea of a Divided Nation – A Component Part of Public Speech in Slovenia from the End of the 19th Century until Today. Review for History and Ethnography, Maribor 86=51(2015), 1, pp. 70–86
In this treatise the author deals with development of the idea of the Slovene nation’s division and its presence in the Slovene public speech. The answer to a successful politicisation of the supposed split of the Slovene national community is searched for in the close attachment of the Slovene national concept to the Catholic Church, which understands a nation as a family, i. e. as a cell that has its own common language and whose split is, in itself, fatal. At the same time the author also defends the hypothesis that this idea is a collective pattern of restoring the division question for overcoming the collective trauma, which is the result of the bloody climax of the political conflict between members of the (national) community during the World War II and directly afterwards.
