Igre in igrače bogatijo življenja vseh generacij, pogojujejo pa jih čas, kulturno okolje in družbenoekonomskoe razmere. Članek podaja tipologijo igrač, po kateri so igrače razvrščene na didaktične, konstrukcijske, funkcijske, domišljiske, zvočne, ustvarjalne igrače in namizne družabne igre. Pri vsakem tipu so izpostavljene najpomebnejše igrače, s katerimi so se igrali kmečki in/ali mestni otroci. Igrače kmečkih otrok so bile povezane z lastno domišljijo in ustvarjalnostjo, medtem ko so se mestni otroci igrali s kupljenimi igračami. Mnoge obravnavane igre in igrače so med otroki priljubljene še danes.

Games and toys enrich the lives of all generations and depend on the time, cultural environment and socioeconomic conditions. The article presentsa toy typology according to which they are arranged in didactic, construction, functional, fantasy, sound and creative toys and table party games. In each type the most important toys with which the country and/or city children polayed, are put in foreground. The toys of country children were linked with their own imagination and creativity, whereas city children played with bought toys. many of the toys and games descired in this artocle are still very popular among children today.
