Borut Zidar: Pojmi pri zgodovini v osnovni šoli. Časopis za zgodovino in narodopisje, Maribor 78=43(2007), 1, str. 78-96

Avtor predstavlja štiri različne raziskave o učenju zgodovinskih pojmov, ki so bile izvedene v Sloveniji, Španiji, Italiji in ZDA. S preizkusom razumevanja izbranih pojmov pri zgoodovini v 7. in 8. razredu osnovne šole pa ugotavlja, da imajo uèenci precejšnje težave pri razumevanju pojmov, saj le ok. 30-40 % učencev razume abstraktne pojme in da učno uspešni učenci bolj razumejo abstraktne pojme kot učno manj uspešni učenci. Zato avtor predlaga sistematično preučevanje rezultatov poučevanja abstraktnih zgodovinskih pojmov na vseh stopnjah šolanja, še posebej pa v 6. razredu osnovne šole, kjer se uèenci prvič srečajo s samostojnim predmetom zgodovina.

Borut Zidar: Concepts in the Subject of History in Elementary School. Review for Hiistory and Ethnography, Maribor 78=43(2007), 1, pp. 78-96

The aurhor presents four different investigations on the study of historical notions, which were carried our in Slovenia, Spain, Italy and the USA. By a test of comprehension of chosen concepts in the subject of history in the 7th and 8th grade of elementary school, he finds that pupils have considerable difl1culties at the comprehension of concepts, as appprox. 30-40% of them comprehend abstract concepts; academically more successfil pupils comprehend better abstract concepts in comparison to academically less successful ones. Thus, the author proposes a systematic study of the findings of the teaching of abstract historical concepts at alllevels of education, but particularly in the 6th grade of elementary school, when pupils first meet the independent subject of history.
