Prispevek obravnava nastanek in delovanje liberalne Jugoslovanske demokratske stranke (JDS) na Štajerskem med leti 1918-1920 (v času Avstro-Ogrske, Države SHS in Kraljevine SHS) do volitev v Ustavodajno skupščino novembra leta 1920.
JDS je svoj politični program in delovanje prilagodila družbenopolitičnim razmeram oz. okoliščinam na Štajerskem. Njeno delovanje je bilo odvisno tudi od usmeritve drugih dveh liberalnih strank (SKS, NSS), ki sta prav tako delovali na Štajerskem.

The paper considers the coming about of the liberlist Yugoslav Democratic Party in Styria in the period of 1918-1920 (during Austria-Hungary, the State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs and the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, until elections for the Constitutional Asembly in November, 1920).
The Party adjusted its political program me and activites to the socio-political condi¬lions, i.e. circumstances in Styria. rts activities depended much on the directions of the other liberally minded parties (SKS, NSS), which were also active in Styria.
