Eva Ilec: Tekstilne najdbe iz grobnice v gotskem prezbiteriju nekdanje dominikanske
cerkve na Ptuju. Časopis za zgodovino in narodopisje, Maribor 85=50(2014), 1–2, str.
168–188

Arheološke raziskave v dominikanskem samostanu na Ptuju so v začetku leta 2013
odkrile izjemne tekstilne najdbe, ki so po količini kosov, ohranjenosti in posebnosti v
tehniki izdelave dragocen prispevek k poznavanju tekstilne dediščine v mednarodnem
merilu, še posebej pa na Slovenskem. V preliminarnih konservatorskih posegih smo
odstranili debel sloj ostankov zemlje, naredili mikroskopsko analizo vlaken, razvrstili
dokumentacija edini vir informacij o izkopanih tekstilnih predmetih.

Eva Ilec: Textile Finds from the Vault in the Former Ptuj Dominican Church Gothic Presbytery.
Review for History and Ethnography, Maribor 85=50(2014), 1–2, pp. 168–188

The archaeological research in the Ptuj Dominican Monastery uncovered a number of
exceptional textile items in early 2013. These finds stand out because of their number, the good condition in which they were found and the fact that they display the use of
special manufacturing techniques. They have made not just a valuable contribution
to research on textile heritage in Slovenia but also internationally. Through preliminary
conservation procedures, the thick layers of earth surrounding the items were
removed, a microscopic fibre analysis was performed, the textile pieces were divided
according to clothing groups and the items photo-documented. There are more than
one hundred textile fragments, mostly silk, from both male and female clothing, and
tens of leather shoe parts. Documenting the condition of archaeological textile finds is
extremely important because of later fibre disintegration; documentation may be the
only source of information on textile digs.
